As I first posted way back when, I use a Kindle Keyboard as my Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
At some point I misplaced it. I knew where the cover was, with “Don’t Panic” in big, friendly, silver letters. But I could not find my Guide. While I was moving, I was going through things as much as possible before packing them when I found it. I found the Kindle! Complete with both other cases and USB cord!
There was one problem. The battery had died. Today, I got to the box that it was packed in (I labeled the box so I wouldn’t loose it again). I plugged it in and got a few things done. The screen hadn’t changed. It was still telling me the battery was empty and if the screen hadn’t changed in so long to hold the power button on for 15 seconds and it would change. I waited. It hadn’t changed. I held the button. It didn’t change. So I plugged it back in. I waited. It hadn’t changed. I held the button. It didn’t change. I left it unplugged and headed out to class.
Getting home tonight I decided to give it one last shot. I plugged it in. Some time later, I walked by it at just the right time. It was showing the loading screen. It’s alive! It still has the files I uploaded. It still works!!!
Now if I could just find the cover…
